War Prisoners (pows)
POWs, conditions: terrible, rations only twice a week half a pound of, biscuits, pork, a half pint of peas, rice, a half ounce of butter and one fire every three days for meals. POWs slept in bare rooms, and got water in dirty iron pots. Many would fall ill and receive no medical aid.
POW ships: The Whitby. The Whitby housed many men, and was dubbed "The Sick Ship". The ship had bad food and water, no medical aid was given either.
The Old Jersey: was dubbed : "Hell". it houses over 1000 men at once, has bad water and food as well. No medical Aid given either.
