Smallpox
smallpox is caused by poor care of the variola virus.
symptoms: cold, fever, muscle pain, headaches, vomiting, small red spots on the skin mouth and tongue after two to four days, red pustles will appear on the skin, rare chance of blindness
Treatment: variolation
Yellow Fever
yellow fever is a disease that is obtained by mosquitoes through monkeys, then the mosquitoes infest humans.
symptoms: cold, back pain, stomach ache, yellowing skin and eyes, nausea, vomiting, blood clots, dillusional, spasms, gum bleeds, yellow liver.
treatment; hospitalization, hydrate frequently
Dysentery
dysentery is a disease caused by poor hygiene, dirty food and dirty water intake.
Symptoms; bloating, bloody diarrhea, cramps, flatulence, vomiting, thirstiness, fever, chills, rapid heartbeat, loss of strength, high fever, dizziness, passing out.
treatment; bed rest, immune system strengthening.
Typhus
typhus is caused from Rickettsiae bacteria picked up by arthropods that then infect humans.
symptoms; 1 to 2 weeks after being infected you will experience high fever, headache, nausea, diarrhea, joint pain, back pain.

A Soldiers Life in The Revolutionary War
1) The Continental Army was formed on June 14th, 1775 by the Continental Congress.
2)Militias are different parts or units of an army, they were formed in case of emergencies at any time.
3) The continental army was an army that was formed by the continental congress to reduce reliance and dependence upon Britain, their enlistment periods were between six months and three years.
4) The man chosen to lead the Revolutionary War was General and first president George Washington.
5) There was a total of around 50,000 men who fought in the war. The maximum amount of troops deployed at one time was 17,000
6) Soldiers were paid monthly, most of which, was spent in supplies. They were given large amounts of land after the war as well.
7) Slaves and the poor joined the Continental Army for a chance of freedom and land if they survived through the war. (most didn't)
8) The median age of soldiers was 18 to 24 years old.
9) Disease had a major effect on the revolutionary war, more people died of disease than dying from combat.
10) American soldiers captured by the british were put on prisoner of war ships, many died from disease, roughly 80% of all POWs died.
11) Most POWs were kept in ships, others were forced to do labor, most died from disease or being killed by the British
12) The Hessian soldiers were German mercenaries that fought for the British, most were given land after the war.
13)British soldiers and officers had better living quarters, better foods, better health, mostly everything better than the colonists
